What is the application of elbows in titanium pipe fittings?

blog-1-1

In the piping system, elbows are pipe fittings used to change the direction of the pipe. According to the angle, there are three commonly used types: 45°, 90° and 180°. In addition, according to the needs of the project, there are other non-normal angle elbows such as 60°. The materials of the elbows include cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, malleable cast iron, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics.

1. Since most pipe fittings are used for welding, in order to improve the quality of welding, the ends are processed into grooves with certain angles and edges. This requirement is also quite strict, and there are regulations on the thickness, angle, and deviation range of the edges. The surface quality and mechanical properties are basically the same as those of the pipe. To facilitate welding, the pipe fittings are of the same steel grade as the connecting pipes.

2. All pipe fittings must be surface treated, the oxide scale on the inner and outer surfaces must be shot blasted, and then coated with anti-corrosion paint. This is for export needs, and also to facilitate transportation in China, to prevent corrosion and oxidation, all work in this regard needs to be done.

3. The packaging requirements are that for small pipe fittings such as exports, a wooden box of about 1 cubic meter needs to be made. According to regulations, the number of elbows in this box cannot exceed one ton. This standard allows one set, that is, a large set and a small set, but the total weight usually cannot exceed 1 ton. For large items, they need to be packed separately. In addition, there are packaging marks, which should indicate the size, steel grade, batch number, manufacturer's trademark, etc.
